The LSU Basketball team is off to a 7-1 start to the season as the third season under Matt McMahon looks like its going to be the best yet under Matt McMahon. As the Tigers continue to show improvement under McMahon, the team becomes more appealing to top recruits around the Country. In the 2025 cycle, LSU landed three top-75 recruits accounting for the 17th ranked class in the Country.

As the majority of the 2025 recruiting class has signed the staff now moves on to recruiting the 2026 class. On Tuesday one of the top recruits in the 2026 recruiting class announced his visits for the Winter with LSU making the cut.

According to the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings JJ Andrews is the 22nd ranked player in the Country, the 7th ranked shooting guard, and the top player out of Arkansas. The Tigers currently don't hold any commitments from 2026 recruits.

The Tigers will need to do a ton to beat out the In-State Razorbacks and some of the other top teams in the Country. The pitch Matt McMahon and his staff can make is about how well guards are playing in the system. Cam Carter and Jordan Sears are scoring 20 points nearly every night while Freshman Vyctorius Miller is becoming a massive piece for this team as a Freshman Guard.

If this season can finish the way its started with guards putting up massive numbers in McMahon's system then the Tigers will quickly become one of the most attractive teams to young guards on the recruiting trail. Vyctorius Miller is becoming a key off the bench and could become the key to McMahon's pitch.
