When the LSU Baseball team dropped 2 of 3 games to the Texas Longhorns, it meant that the LSU Baseball team was going to lose its crown as D1Baseball's top ranked team. The series loss dropped LSU from the Nation's top team all the way down to being the 8th ranked team in the Country. The climb back up the rankings started last week as LSU faced off against the ULL Ragin Cajuns winning 17-4 before sweeping Mississippi State this weekend.
After the 4-0 week, LSU is back on the climb in D1Baseball's Top 25 as the Tigers have risen from 8th to 7th thanks in part due to Oregon State's fall from 5th to 11th.

The D1Baseball Top Ten just speaks to how dominant the SEC is especially this season as 8 of the Top 10 are SEC schools. Outside of the Top 10, the SEC has two more ranked teams as Auburn is ranked 16th while Vanderbilt is ranked 23rd.
This week was the return to dominance that LSU was looking for after dropping its first series of the year. The Tigers averaged 11 runs per game this week scoring 17 twice in wins over ULL and Mississippi State. While it seemed like the pitching staff had a bad week, LSU's staff surrendered just 4.75 runs per game which should always be good enough to win with this group.
The week ahead for the LSU Baseball team will give the Tigers the chance to take a bigger leap in the rankings. LSU will open the week facing off against Louisiana Tech on Tuesday before facing off against the 10th ranked Oklahoma Sooners on the road in Norman. A winning week will certainly help LSU in climbing back up the rankings while keeping LSU in the race for the SEC Regular Season Championship.
