The month of February is more than halfway over and as each day passes, the NCAA Tournament inches closer. On the Women's side of the NCAA Tournament, the competition is closer than ever as every week the same ten teams have been rotating around in the top ten. This weekend the NCAA revealed what the Top 16 seeds would be if the Tournament started on Sunday but, as LSU and Texas faced off along with UConn and South Carolina the seeding has likely changed.

Heading into Sunday's slate, the Lady Tigers were the sixth ranked team which would've made the Tigers the 2nd two-seed in the Tournament.

However, after the seeding was released the results of Sunday's games clearly changed the seeding. 3rd Ranked Texas beat 6th ranked LSU, 7th ranked UConn demolished 2nd ranked South Carolina, 11th ranked North Carolina beat 8th ranked North Carolina State,

Given the massive wins by North Carolina and UConn, both the Tar Heels and Huskies would certainly move up on the seed lines. The question for LSU would be whether or not their loss paired with North Carolina's win and wins elsewhere would drop the Tigers out of the Top Eight dropping LSU to a three seed.

As things currently stand, LSU is likely the 8th ranked team according to the NCAA Tournament committee as the loss to Texas isn't bad enough to seriously hurt the Tigers. The Tigers still have plenty of games left before the NCAA Tournament with four regular season games remaining and the SEC Tournament.

The Tigers have two ranked games against Kentucky and Alabama remaining along with matchups against Georgia and Ole Miss. Kim Mulkey's team likely needs to take 3 of the final 4 if not all four if the Tigers want to be in line for one of the top four seeds when Selection Sunday rolls around.
