The search for the next head coach of the LSU Football program is underway. It's been over two weeks since the school decided to part ways with Brian Kelly, and a lot has happened since then. The chaotic environment surrounding the LSU athletic department may be worrisome to some potential coaching candidates, but the fact of the matter remains that LSU is arguably the best job in all of college football.
LSU fans are out on this potential Brian Kelly replacement after latest comments
As the Frank Wilson era continues on an interim basis, LSU can scratch one more name off of the list of head coach candidates to replace Brian Kelly. According to On3, Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm is working on a contract extension to stay with the Cardinals for the long-term. Brohm's name has floated around in relation to the LSU job, but now it appears that Brohm is staying put.

Brohm is currently in his 3rd season at Louisville, and he's posted an overall record of 26-10 with a 16-6 mark in ACC play. He is one of the most well-respected head coaches in all of college football, and his name has been rumored to several other positions in recent weeks as well.
However, luring Brohm away from Louisville was going to be tough for any school, as he is coaching at his alma mater. That means it would have been quite surprising to see Brohm leave the Cardinals. It would have had to be the perfect situation, but now with his recent contract extension talks, it appears Brohm is content coaching at the same school he played.
Louisville is 7-2 this season and fighting for an ACC title. The Cardinals picked up a massive upset over then-No. 2 Miami (FL) a few weeks ago. Pulling big upset wins is a common theme for Brohm, who did the same at Purdue when he was the head coach of the Boilermakers from 2017-22. The Purdue football program has struggled mightily since Brohm's departure, showing just how valuable he is.
