LSU Commit Bryce Underwood seemingly shuts down Michigan's $10.5 Million NIL Offer
The biggest storyline in College Football recruiting as of late has been the recruitment of Five-Star Quarterback and LSU commit Bryce Underwood. On3, ESPN, and 24/7 Sports all agree that Underwood is the top quarterback in the class and the Nation's top overall player. After Underwood committed to LSU in January things went quiet as he stayed committed to LSU and didn't take any recruiting visits elsewhere.
Things started to bubble up in October as Michigan fans were sick of watching their team struggle because of their lack of a quarterback. Barstool Sports Founder Dave Portnoy was the first person to publicly to start the push pledging $3 million dollars to ensure Michigan fixed its quarterback problems.
Things hit a new high on Thursday as On3 reported that Michigan was offering Bryce Underwood 10.5 Million Dollars.
This opened the floodgates as LSU fans and Michigan fans all started to speculate on what that may mean for his recruitment.
Bryce Underwood has seemingly shutdown the rumors of a potential flip as he shared a graphic that he's going to decline Michigan's 10.5 million dollar offer.
This could be a play by Underwood to get Michigan to continue to up its offer which would be a smart play as the Wolverines get more desperate by the day as signing day is just weeks away. This also could be Bryce Underwood letting Michigan know that they may as well stop offering as the money isn't the biggest factor to him.
Money now isn't as much as the potential money down the line
If you're Bryce Underwood, you look at Joe Burrow who makes $55 million per year and Jayden Daniels who will likely win the Rookie of the Year and it trumps Michigan's development. Underwood coming to LSU likely gives him the best path to the NFL and the best path to making far more than any school could pay in NIL.
