Its no secret that the LSU Football team is looking to add a quarterback this offseason whether its through traditional recruiting or via the transfer portal. The Tigers held a commitment from Five-Star Quarterback Bryce Underwood until he flipped late in the cycle to Michigan. The timing was less than ideal as it gave LSU just weeks to pivot which isn't enough time given the fact that LSU wasn't an option for most QBs until the flip.

Many expect that LSU will add a quarterback via the transfer portal even if its just a backup to Garrett Nussmeier after Rickie Collins entered the transfer portal. The Tigers will still likely add a wide receiver via the Transfer Portal but, its Four-Star recruit Bryce Baker that is drawing the most attention.

North Carolina fired Head Coach Mack Brown and while the team looks for its next Head Coach, Quarterback Bryce Baker will wait to sign with a program. The delay in Baker's signing is giving LSU as well as Penn State the chance to swoop in late to pull off a flip.

Bryce Baker is ranked as the 93rd best player in the Country, the 10th ranked quarterback, and the 3rd ranked player in North Carolina making him the top unsigned Quarterback according to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings.

If LSU is able to swoop in late to flip the elite quarterback recruit, it would be massive for the Tigers. Obviously, LSU can add a quarterback via the Transfer Portal but, ideally you'd like to land a High School quarterback in every recruiting cycle to give you plenty of options at the most important position. The next step for LSU is getting Baker on campus for a recruiting visit where they could hopefully sway him towards flipping to LSU.
