As the Spring turns to Summer, the LSU Football team will look to turn up the heat on the recruiting trail. As official visits start to take shape, the LSU Football team will look to carry the momentum they built up in the Spring when they ascended into the Nation's top class into the Summer. This weekend marks the first massive recruiting weekend of the year for the Tigers as LSU has a loaded group of players coming to Baton Rouge.

The headline recruit heading to Baton Rouge this weekend is 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho. On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings rank Iheanacho as the 3rd ranked recruit in the Class, the 2nd ranked offensive tackle, and the top player out of Maryland. For most of Iheanacho's recruitment, Oregon has appeared heading to Oregon but, LSU has done its best to shake things up.

The Tigers got Iheanacho on campus this Spring and now the Tigers will once again get to make their push this weekend. While Oregon has been the presumed leader, On3's Steve Wiltfong believes LSU could leave this weekend as the leader for Iheanacho.

The point that Wiltfong makes which stands out for LSU is the level at which Brian Kelly and Brad Davis have developed talent in their careers which will be appealing to any recruit. The Tigers staff can now point to this year's NFL draft where 4 of LSU's 5 starting offensive linemen were taken which only speaks to LSU's development.

The aspect that LSU fans should love to hear is that the Tigers are bought in on the NIL front with Iheanacho. After losing out on Bryce Underwood to a massive NIL offer, it's great to see that the Tigers are now one of the teams making the push on the NIL front with the development front.

The Tigers will need to make a strong impression this weekend but, this recruitment could truly come down to National Signing Day which always makes everyone uneasy.
