LSU cracks the Top 6 for the Top In-state recruit but, they'll need to make up ground
The LSU Football team is off to a solid start in the 2026 recruiting cycle with the Nation's ninth ranked recruiting class. The Tigers only have four commits thus far but, they are all from in-state recruits which is the best way to start building a class. Louisiana is loaded in the 2026 recruiting cycle which gives LSU a great chance to land one of the top classes if they lock down the state.
After Jahkeem Stewart reclassified into the 2025 recruiting class, there was a new top recruit in the state as Lamar Brown assumed the position. The offensive lineman released his final six schools on Sunday with LSU making the cut.
Lamar Brown is the Nation's 8th ranked recruit, the top interior offensive lineman, and the top player in Louisiana according to On3's Industry recruiting rankings.
While LSU has been dominant keeping elite talent in-state, the Tigers will need to make up some ground in this recruitment if they're going to keep Brown home. Lamar Brown was in College Station as the Texas A&M Aggies knocked off LSU and after the game he declared that the Aggies were the top school in his recruitment.
The Tigers should be able to make a solid pitch to any offensive lineman in this class especially after this season. The Tigers will have an offensive tackle drafted in the top five in Will Campbell and Emery Jones may hear his name called in the first round too. Guards Garrett Dellinger and Miles Frazier will be drafted in this class as well showing how great Brad Davis is doing developing offensive linemen.
The Tigers need to win out this recruiting battle
While Texas A&M has all of the momentum right now there is still plenty of time for LSU to make up ground in this recruitment. The Tigers need to lock down the elite talent in-state and they need to win out over an SEC rival in Texas A&M. Being the In-State school gives LSU a ton of chances to get Brown on campus where the staff continue to make their pitch.
