The NFL Season is winding down as after this weekend the only game left to be played is the Super Bowl. The week prior to the Super Bowl will host the Pro Bowl Games and in the days leading up to the Super Bowl, the Associated Press gives out their NFL Awards to the top players in the League. This season, LSU has 8 nominations for several different awards.
The NFL MVP is one of the most prestigious Awards in all of sports and LSU will be represented as Joe Burrow is a finalist. More likely than not, the Award is going to Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson but, to be in the running is still incredible. The case for Joe Burrow would be that he led the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns and without him the Bengals may have been the worst team in football.
The Offensive Player of the Year Award is one LSU has won as of late with Justin Jefferson taking it home a few years ago. The Tigers will have two players up for the Award as Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase were named finalists. Saquon Barkley will most likely win it but, Ja'Marr Chase has a strong case after winning the Wide Receiver Triple Crown.
The LSU Tigers will almost certainly win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award as Jayden Daniels is the front runner. Daniels will be joined by his LSU teammates Brian Thomas Jr and Malik Nabers as both wide receivers had standout seasons.
Joe Burrow will have a third chance at an Award as one of the finalists for the Comeback Player of the Year Award. Joe Burrow has won this award in the past and what he did after injury was incredible but, he most likely won't win this one either.
Finally, LSU will have a former coach in the running for the AP Assistant Coach of the Year Award in former assistant Joe Brady. This award is most likely going to Ben Johnson but, Joe Brady has a strong case as the Bills offense was one of the leagues best with far less talent than the Lions.
We all expect that Jayden Daniels will take home an award but, it'll be intriguing to see if the Tigers are able to land one of the several other awards they are nominated for.
