The LSU Football team was off to a red hot start to the Texas Bowl as the offense was clicking on all cylinders while the defense was coming up with stops and even scoring touchdowns of their own as Dahvon Keys scored on a pick six. The euphoria of the first half quickly turned into fear however as Whit Weeks went down with a leg injury. Weeks bent awkwardly in the pile as bodies piled up on his legs.

Weeks needed to be carted off the field and was in an air cast which is never a good sign. We likely won't see Weeks the rest of the game as the biggest fear now is how significant the injury is. Given that Whit Weeks was all smiles and was pumping the crowd up, the hope is that the injury isn't too significant.

The entire bench clearing as the team went to check on Weeks speaks volumes to how much he means to this team and how big of a leader he is. Weeks stepped up when Harold Perkins went down with an injury and quickly became the leader of the defense. This offseason, Whit Weeks and Garrett Nussmeier have played a massive part in getting transfers to commit to LSU.

For the rest of the game, we'll likely see the Tigers play West Weeks, Greg Penn III, and Dahvon Keys at linebacker while younger players like Tylen Singleton may see some playing time.

Weeks is a massive piece for LSU heading into 2025 and any significant injury is a massive blow to the roster.
