Two weeks ago, the Philadelphia Eagles released Devin White giving him the chance to sign with a new team as he hadn't been playing. After spending five seasons in Tampa Bay, White signed with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason on a one year deal worth $7.5 Million Dollars. White never appeared in a game with the Eagles and he didn't have to wait too long as he signed with the Houston Texans on Wednesday.
The Texans were dealing with some injuries at middle linebacker as Christian Harris is on injured reserve as he deals with a calf injury. Devin White will have a chance to play this weekend as he's already practicing with the team.
White joins fellow LSU Alums Derek Stingley Jr and Danielle Hunter on the Texans defense. This is an incredible landing spot for White as he lands on a contending team with a defensive minded head coach.
This is a solid move for the Houston Texans as well as they land a high upside linebacker that can bolster their defense. While the Buccaneers and Eagles gave up on White, it's hard to believe that White can't play anymore. He's still just 26 years old and is two years removed from posting 124 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Hopefully, this deal works out for both sides and we can all get back to watching Devin White demolishing opposing offenses.
