As the entire SEC world is in Destin, Florida for the SEC Spring Meetings, news on the upcoming College Football season are continuing to be released. The LSU Football team already knew it was starting the season off with a night game at the fake Death Valley in Clemson. During the meetings, the early season TV schedule was released for the SEC Football games.

LSU Football to host Florida under the lights of Tiger Stadium

During Week 3 of the College Football season, LSU will get to host Florida at Tiger Stadium for a night game.

Death Valley at night is unrivaled in College Football and while everyone has given their great reviews, Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports said it best in 2008:

"It has turned the knees of All-Americans to goo. It has caused coaches to lose their coaching minds. Dark. That combined with Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night is something loud, strange and holy. There is noise in stadiums everywhere from Eugene to Tuscaloosa. Only in Baton Rouge is there a living, breathing being lurking in its grand, old stadium."

Given the fact that LSU lost this matchup last season, getting to host Florida at night is massive news for the Tigers. The matchup is LSU's first SEC game of the season which would've led to a raucous crowd to begin with but, the first SEC game of the season brings a different level of energy.

While LSU has College Football Playoff expectations, the Gators do as well which will make for an exciting matchup. Both teams will feature Heisman hopefuls at Quarterback in Garrett Nussmeier and DJ Lagway along with exciting running backs in Caden Durham and Jadan Baugh. If LSU is going to compete for the College Football Playoff and the SEC, games like this are crucial in achieving those goals.
