LSU Football looks like its finally closing out the recruitment of DJ Pickett
While the recruitments of Bryce Underwood and Derek Meadows have become the ones that LSU fans are the most worried about that wasn't always the case. The recruitment of DJ Pickett has been one that LSU fans have been skeptical that he'll sign with LSU as it was a surprise when the Tigers earned his commitment as it seemed that Miami and Oregon were the clear front runners heading into the day.
Since committing, DJ Pickett has taken visits to In-State Miami and Florida which only turned up the heat as he has family ties at Miami.
As of late, a ton of the smoke around Miami has started to fade and it appears that LSU may have finally fully won out in this recruitment. DJ Pickett was back in Baton Rouge for the Alabama game along with a majority of LSU's star-studded recruiting class.
On3's Vice President Steve Wiltfong spoke on DJ Pickett and some of the uncertainty going away on his show the Wiltfong Whiparound saying the following.
"I think that DJ Pickett is going to sign with LSU based on everything I am hearing. Look he was at LSU this past weekend for the loss against Alabama saw an opportunity to come in and maybe make an early impact in Baton Rouge. He is going to comeback for the Oklahoma game which is just five days ahead of that Early Signing Period."
- Steve Wiltfong
Pickett will be on the road visiting a school this weekend but, it shouldn't be a concern as Pickett visits Florida who'll be hosting LSU.
Corey Raymond is recruiting to bring back DBU
Its no secret that the LSU defense has been underwhelming over the past few years and in part because of the play in the Secondary. Corey Raymond has returned and LSU's DB's are playing much better but, Raymond is recruiting a class of players that can take LSU to the next level once they get on campus. Raymond's haul of DJ Pickett, Kade Phillips, and Aidan Anding is one of the best in the Country as Raymond looks to rebuild LSU's yearly status of being the best secondary in the Country.
