This weekend was a jam-packed weekend for the LSU Football program as the Tigers hosted their annual Spring game which was a different format this year. While it wasn't the regular spring game, the Tigers still had the massive recruiting attendance which sets the Tigers up nicely to add to the Nation's top ranked recruiting class.
The weekend did take a somber turn on Sunday as LSU fans received the news that former LSU star and NFL hopeful Kyren Lacy had passed away. The news reached the world rather than just the LSU Family with figures from across the world sending the Lacy family their condolences while honoring Lacy's legacy.
Leaving the weekend, the following stories for LSU stand out ahead of the final week of Spring Practice.
The sports world sends its condolences to Kyren Lacy and the LSU Family
On Sunday Morning, the LSU Football family suffered a massive loss as former LSU Wide Receiver Kyren Lacy took his own life at just 24 years old. The news is devastating as Kyren Lacy had his entire life ahead of him, and the entire situation is saddening and hard to digest. The part that was the most endearing is the amount of people that Kyren Lacy touched as his former teammates, coaches, and some who never met Kyren Lacy sent a ton of love and respect to Kyren Lacy and his family in a time of need.
A few standouts from the LSU Football Spring Game
The LSU Football team didn't have a traditional Spring game but, there were plenty of game situations during the practice. Garrett Nussmeier scored a rushing touchdown in the redzone which is a point of emphasis. The use of Ju'Juan Johnson as a rushing threat in the red zone is something LSU fans should keep an eye on as Johnson spent time on the field with Nussmeier.

Running Back Caden Durham was held out with an ankle injury which allowed some of the other players in the room to try and impress the coaching staff. The biggest winner in the room was true freshman Harlem Berry who got a rave review from Brian Kelly.
"He’s a natural runner of the football, he sees things that you just don’t coach. The great backs have that natural, uncanny ability to see things on the move, and you just let it go. He’s got to be coached on protections, schemes, how to eat. He’s very receptive. He’s really good. I think he lives up to the billing of the best (prep) running back in the country because of his natural instincts. He’ll play for us as a freshman, yeah."Brian Kelly
The most impressive group of the day was the edge rushers as the speed in this unit stands out and will be massive for LSU's defense this season. Returning cornerback PJ Woodland had one of the biggest plays of the weekend intercepting Garrett Nussmeier.
LSU gets some of its top recruits on campus for the Spring Game
Whether LSU has an actual game or not, the recruits will always show out for the Tigers' Spring Game weekend. The biggest news of the weekend may have been elite cornerback Havon Finney Jr returning to LSU with his family alongside him which is always a great sign. LSU and Corey Raymond have been recruiting Havon Finney Jr from before he reclassified and LSU appears to be in a great place with one of the best cornerbacks in the class.

As LSU looks to keep elite defensive lineman Lamar Brown in Louisiana, it was massive news that the Tigers got Brown back on campus. LSU was making a strong push for Brown but, when Bo Davis left for the Saints, the Tigers had to keep pushing. This battle is shaping up to be LSU vs Texas A&M which makes keeping Brown even more important rather than facing him three times.
So much love at LSU today love it there🫶🏾

The Tigers ended up with a massive group of recruits on campus which gives LSU a ton of momentum heading into the Summer. While LSU didn't land any commitments this weekend, the Tigers momentum should help with official visits on the horizon as LSU looks to build out this recruiting class.
