The recruiting dead period has come to a close and as recruits are allowed to return to campus, the Spring and Summer will become an all out frenzy on the recruiting trail. Currently, the LSU Football program holds the Nation's 3rd ranked recruiting class and the top class in the SEC. Given that LSU only has six commits on board, the Tigers will look to grow their class as recruits start to commit the next few months.

This offseason will be pivotal for the LSU Football team as the Tigers are set to host some of the best recruits in the Country on official and unofficial visits. Visit Weekends are far and away the most important aspect of recruting as it gives the staff the chance to pitch recruits on why they belong on campus while they're on campus.

This Summer, LSU will get elite four star wide receiver Xavier McDonald on campus for an official visit.

On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings rank Xavier McDonald as the 116th ranked player in the Country, the 17th ranked wide receiver, and the 5th ranked player out of Mississippi. Given that Xavier McDonald is a Mississippi Native it'll be difficult to lure him out of State especially over Ole Miss.

The Tigers have at times made massive impressions with McDonald especially as he visited campus for the Tigers' win over Oklahoma in the Regular Season Finale.

The LSU Football team will be a major player on the recruiting trail at the wide receiver position this cycle. Last cycle the LSU Football program signed just two wide receivers out of high school creating a need for long term players at the position. Given that LSU could lose any combination of Aaron Anderson, Barion Brown, Nic Anderson, Chris Hilton Jr, Kyle Parker, Zavion Thomas, and Destyn Hill to the NFL the need at the position is intensified.

The Tigers already have two four-star wide receivers on board with In-State stars Kenny Darby and Jakai Anderson committed. The Tiges will have a busy Spring and Summer recruiting other wide receivers as the Tigers will host McDonald, Boobie Feaster, Tristen Keys, O'Mari Johnson, and Jabari Mack on visits as LSU looks to land a massive wide receiver class.
