While the college football world is currently in a recruiting dead period, that hasn't stopped the LSU Football team from building up momentum on the recruiting trail. Elite Four-Star In-State Offensive Tackle Brysten Martinez committed to LSU on Thursday giving the Tigers the Nation's third ranked recruiting class and the top ranked class in the SEC.

While the Tigers may slow down with landing commitments during the recruiting dead period, all signs are pointing toward a massive Spring as top recruits continue to set official visits to Baton Rouge. The latest recruit to schedule their official visit to Baton Rouge is Wide Receiver O'Mari Johnson who will be returning to Baton Rouge.

According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, O'Mari Johnson is the 208th ranked player in the class, the 34th ranked wide receiver in the class, and the 9th ranked player out of Mississippi. As of late, LSU has had a ton of success recruiting Mississippi nabbing Tyler Miller and PJ Woodland in the past two recruiting cycles.

In this recruiting class, the LSU Football team currently holds commitments from two elite wide receivers out of Louisiana in Kenny Darby and Jakai Anderson. The Tigers have a massive recruiting target right in their backyard in Destrehan Wide Receiver Jabari Mack who's the top wide receiver out of Louisiana.

Johnson has been on LSU's campus a few times over the past few years but, after the Ole Miss game he had the following to say about LSU in his recruitment.

"They are one of the few programs that consistently sends wide receivers to the NFL, which is something that helps them stand out from the pack."

Given the fact that LSU may lose Aaron Anderson, Nic Anderson, Barion Brown, and Chris Hilton Jr this offseason, the Tigers will need to take on a massive wide receiver class especially after only signing two wide receivers last class.
