The LSU Tigers suffered a frustrating loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores in Week 8. Vandy thoroughly out-played and out-coached LSU in just about every facet of the game as LSU dropped to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play this season. The loss marked LSU's first loss to Vanderbilt since 1990, and snapped a 10-game win streak against the Commodores.

The Associated Press released its Week 9 college football poll on Sunday afternoon. Not surprisingly, LSU fell far.

LSU free falls in Week 9 AP Poll

LSU entered Week 8's matchup against Vanderbilt as the No. 10 team in the country according to last week's AP Poll. After suffering a 31-24 loss, LSU no sits at No. 20 in the Week 9 Poll. The drop of 10 spots is the biggest of the week. Texas Tech and Miami (FL) both dropped seven spots, while Tennessee fell six spots.

Vanderbilt was ranked at the No. 17 spot heading into Saturday's matchup. After a well-rounded performance against the Tigers, Clark Lea's team jumped seven spots and now sits at No. 10.

The fall for LSU isn't surprising, as the Commodores had no problem moving the ball against Blake Baker's defense. Coming off a bye, Vanderbilt had pleny of time to game plan for LSU, and the Commodores executed their game plan with little resistance from the Tigers. Vanderbilt dominated time of possession 36:31-23:29, and out-rushed LSU 239-100. Diego Pavia stole the show, throwing for 160 yards and a touchdown while rushing for a team-high 86 yards and two more scores.

LSU's next opponent is the Texas A&M Aggies, who are ranked as the No. 3 team in the country. LSU is looking for revenge, as lost by a score of 38-23 in College Station last season. Kick-off between the Tigers and Aggies is set for Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. CT from Death Valley.
