The LSU Football team has been hard at work as of late putting a full court press on top recruits in the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes as the recruiting dead period is on the horizon. The coaching staff has gone out on the road to visit elite recruits including the Head Coach himself Brian Kelly. Among the recruits Brian Kelly stopped by to see was four star wide receiver commit Kenny Darby.

After meeting with Brian Kelly and Joe Sloan, the LSU Football program gets massive news as Kenny Darby has "shut down" his recruitment.

As of late, Alabama and Tennessee were pushing for Darby but, the elite In-State Wide Receiver tells the teams to stop reaching out that he's staying in Louisiana.
In this era of College Football its hard to believe the news especially after Bryce Underwood said he chose LSU because of quarterback development and scoffed at Michigan and Dakorien Moore said no one could change his dream of playing for LSU.
At the end of the day, you take the recruit at their word until they give you reason to doubt and getting Darby to reaffirm his commitment is massive for LSU.
Kenny Darby just led the State of Louisiana in receiving yards this season with a monster year. On3's Industry Recruiting rankings ranks Kenny Darby as the 249th ranked player in the Country, the 39th ranked recruit, and the 9th ranked player in Louisiana.
Now, the Tigers will look to get Kenny Darby on campus as often as possible in the upcoming months to keep him engaged with the program as well as for help recruiting as the Tigers look to land several other Wide Receiver commits as well as a Quarterback.
