LSU's pivotal win over Clemson last weekend has all eyes on Baton Rouge. Not only did the win open the eyes of media members and fans across the country, but it's also had an impact on the recruiting landscape.
The recruitment of four-star LB JaMichael Garrett has been a closely-followed process ever since he decommitted from Auburn earlier this summer. Garrett was in attendance at Memorial Stadium on Saturday night visiting Clemson, and after watching Dabo Swinney's team fall flat against LSU's new-look defense, Garrett is heading to Baton Rouge to visit LSU on Saturday as the Tigers host Louisiana Tech at Tiger Stadium.

Four-star LB JaMichael Garrett to visit LSU this weekend
Garrett committed to Hugh Freeze and Auburn last summer, but decommitted in June to open up his recruitment again. He is one of the last blue-chip prospects in the 2026 cycle that remains unsigned. Rivals reported that LSU was the other top contender in Garrett's recruitment process when he originally chose Auburn. Brian Kelly and his staff figure to have a solid shot at landing Garrett, as he is playing his senior season at Central High School in Baton Rouge.
According to Rivals Industry Ranking, Garrett is the 15th-ranked linebacker and the No. 253 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He's the third-highest ranked prospect that remains uncommitted heading into Week 2 of the college football season.
The strong performance of LSU's revamped defense against Clemson had to have been impressive to Garrett - as well as other recruits. Entering his second season as LSU's defensive coordinator, Blake Baker dialed up a great game plan that stymied Clemson's offense all night long. The Tigers will look to put together another strong defensive effort on Saturday against the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech in the home opener.
