As the transfer cycle is nearing its end for LSU all eyes turn toward the 2026 recruiting class as LSU looks to build out its 2026 recruiting class early on like it did last cycle. Last week, LSU landed a massive piece landing a commitment from Top 100 defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy at the Under Armour All-American Game.

The commitment gives LSU the 4th ranked recruiting class and the second best class in the SEC with 6 commitments. Among the six commitments are wide receivers Kenny Darby and Jakai Anderson both of which are Louisiana Natives. The Tigers will continue to pursue top receivers in the class and a name to watch for LSU is Texas A&M commitment Aaron Gregory as LSU is among the group pushing the hardest for a flip.

According to On3, Aaron Gregory is the 71st ranked player in the class, the 8th ranked wide receiver, and the 7th best player out of Georgia. Gregory is currently committed to Texas A&M but, he's a player who has been on LSU's radar for awhile as LSU has hosted him on two visits once in the Spring of 2023 and again this past Spring.

This past recruiting cycle wasn't the best for LSU at the Wide Receiver position as Dakorien Moore and Derek Meadows flipped while LSU struck out with other top recruits leaving the Tigers with just two In-State signees.

Cortez Hankton has proven himself developing Wide Receivers and his players have gone on to massive starts in the NFL as Brian Thomas Jr and Malik Nabers finished top ten in receiving yards. The Tigers should be able to use that success on the recruiting trail as they've become one of the best at developing wide receivers but, it hasn't played out that way as of late.
