It has been a tough lead up to the Early Signing Period of National Signing Day as LSU has suffered a few recruiting flips. The Tigers saw Bryce Underwood flip to Michigan after nearly a year committed to LSU, In-State Devin Harper flipped to Ole Miss, and Kade Phillips flipped to Texas after "shutting down his recruitment". The Tigers also saw edge rusher Jesse Harrold Decommit while Derek Meadows has been trending elsewhere this entire month.

There is some good news for LSU however as the Tigers are seemingly set to flip five star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas from Florida State according to On3.

Thomas is the 32nd ranked player in the class, the 2nd ranked interior offensive lineman, and the 4th ranked player out of Florida.

At points in this recruitment it seemed like LSU had the edge on Florida State but, they were never able to pull off the flip. Momentum for LSU started to change when Mike Norvell fired Florida State's offensive line coach Alex Atkins as he and Thomas had built a strong relationship.

Landing Thomas would give LSU a five-star on the offensive line directly replacing four-star offensive lineman Devin Harper who flipped from LSU to Ole Miss. The Tigers entered the final stretch with four five stars, by adding Solomon Thomas LSU would land back at three with a chance to land a fourth if they can make up ground with Jahkeem Stewart.

As we've all seen, recruiting can be hard to predict as everything changes at any given moment but, late momentum is more important than holding a commitment in a recruitment now. We'll see if LSU can get Thomas' name on the dotted line but, it would be a massive flip this late in the cycle for Coach Brad Davis.
