The LSU Football team continues to look through the transfer portal to find the pieces they need heading into the 2025 season. LSU has needs on the offensive line, tight end, wide receiver, edge rusher, and defensive back. The Tigers have been linked to several transfers and have visits set up with a handful and will continue to push as more players enter the transfer portal.

The latest to express their interest in transferring to LSU is edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen, who is transferring from Nebraska.

The list of teams that Umanmielen is eyeing is massive which speaks to his potential but, there may be a few suitors with far better chances than LSU. Princewill's brother Princely is currently on Ole Miss and if he returns to Ole Miss both players will have a chance to play together. Nebraska's Defensive Coordinator Tony White left for the same role at Florida State which gives the Seminoles a great chance at landing Umanmielen. Princewill is also from Texas which gives the Aggies and the Red Raiders a great chance as the hometown team.

The Tigers pitch will be the same that it has been to every edge rusher, and that is edge rushers coach Kevin Peoples. Peoples has established himself as one of the best at developing edge rushers as he showed in year one at LSU.

On the season, Umanmielen recorded 13 tackles, half a sack, and a pass deflection for the Cornhuskers.

Given that Umanmielen is likely looking to play as soon as possible, LSU may not be the biggest contender in this race. LSU needs plug and play starters as they lose Bradyn Swinson and Sai'Vion Jones and to this point, Umanmielen has produced as much as some of the other edge rushers LSU has shown interest in.
