LSU is projected to land transfer cornerback with ties to Corey Raymond
The Transfer Portal continues to move as players and programs have gone from expressing interest in each other to setting up official visits. The LSU Tigers have been very active early on setting up recruiting visits with some of the transfer portals top talents. The Tigers have a handful of needs at wide receiver, offensive line, tight end, edge rusher, and in the secondary.
One of the most important factors in landing a player from the transfer portal is relationships whether its due to finishing second in the initial recruitment, being the closest team to home, or because your school now has the players former position coach.
The final part of that equation has LSU ins a great place to land Florida transfer cornerback Ja'Keem Jackson. On Wednesday, On3's Stevea Wiltfong, Shea Dixon, and Pete Nakos all put in predictions that LSU will land Jackson.
According to On3's Industry Transfer Portal rankings, Jackson is the 5th ranked cornerback in the Transfer Portal and the 47th ranked player in the portal overall.
The biggest reason that Jackson may end up at LSU is due to his relationship with LSU Cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond. Corey Raymond was the cornerbacks coach and the primary recruiter that brought Jackson to Florida and his track record is appealing to most cornerbacks.
To start the season, Jackson was one of the Gators starting Cornerbacks before he suffered an injury that cost him the rest of the season. The Tigers have a need at cornerback, Zy Alexander was outstanding this season but, is out of eligibility while you can never have too many solid defensive backs. If Jackson joins LSU, we could see Ashton Stamps, DJ Pickett, and Ja'Keem Jackson all starting for LSU which would be an impressive group of cornerbacks.
