The attention for LSU's staff currently is building out the 2026 recruiting class with the season now over and the transfer portal activity finally slowing down. The LSU Football team is off to a great start to the offseason after nabbing Top 100 edge rusher JaReylan McCoy during the All American Bowl. Landing McCoy has moved LSU's recruiting class all the way up to the 4th ranking Nationally and gives LSU the second ranked class in the SEC.
As things currently stand, LSU holds commitments from defensive linemen JaReylan McCoy and Richard Anderson, Safety Aiden Hall, wide receivers Kenny Darby and Jakai Anderson, and Interior Offensive Lineman Jalan Chapman.
If LSU is going to land one of the Nation's top recruiting classes, the Tigers are going to have to swing big and lure in some five star recruits. Kevin Peoples is going big as LSU has jumped into the race for elite Edge Rusher Zion Elee.

According to On3, Zion Elee is the Number One player in the Nation as a Five-Star recruit. Elee is currently committed to In-State Maryland but, that hasn't stopped the top schools from making their push.
Landing Zion Elee would take a massive push by LSU as nearly every school in the Country would love to add him into their class. Not only is LSU trying to beat out Maryland now but, Oregon, Miami, Penn State, Tennessee, and Florida are all in the mix as they received visits this fall.
LSU will need to land some serious edge talent in this years recruiting class as they'll lose Patrick Payton, Jimari Butler, and Jack Pyburn as they transferred in as Seniors. The LSU Football team will now hope they can get Elee to Baton Rouge for a visit where they can further advance their push.
