All of the latest news around the LSU Football team's efforts to build out the 2026 recruiting class while building the 2027 recruiting board offering top recruits. The past two weeks have been filled with news of LSU offering elite 2026 and 2027 recruits scholarships while some of the Coaches including Brian Kelly have gone on the road as recruiting truly ramps up with transfer activity dying down.
The latest offer by LSU's Coaching staff comes as Edge Rushers Coach Kevin Peoples extended an offer to Edge Rush recruit Keshawn Stancil.
After a great conversation with @coach_peoples I am beyond blessed to receive a D1 offer from Louisiana State University #geauxtigers @ScottChadwick1 @ClaytonCometsFB @BTownBulls7v7 pic.twitter.com/vvtcyi06Pl

According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Stancil is the 243rd best player in the class, the 26th ranked defensive lineman, and the 13th ranked player out of North Carolina. Recruiting the State of North Carolina got far more interesting this offseason as Bill Belichick took the North Carolina job and has found momentum on the recruiting trail.
It's interesting to see that Kevin Peoples offered Stancil as he's ranked as a defensive lineman which means LSU sees him more as an edge rusher. The Tigers could pitch Stancil on playing a role similar to the one Paris Shand played this season as an edge rusher that can also rush from the tackle position.
The LSU Football team will be looking to load up on the defensive line as there will be a ton of departures this offseason. At edge rusher, LSU will lose Jimari Butler, Jack Pyburn, and Patrick Payton as well as Jacobian Guillory on the interior as all four are Seniors.
This past recruiting cycle LSU brought in a loaded defensive line class signing four defensive tackles and just one edge rusher. The Tigers long term depth on the interior may be why LSU woukd rather bring Stancil in as an edge rusher rather than at tackle.
