The LSU Football team has put together a dominant stretch on the recruiting trail putting the Tigers in contention to sign the Nation's top recruiting class. After a dominant spring where LSU landed Tristen Keys, Jabari Mack, Dylan Purter, and Havon Finney Jr LSU holds the Nation's 2nd ranked recruiting class trailing only the USC Trojans who somehow have an incredible 27 commitments.
Heading into the Summer, LSU has put itself in position to surge once again on the recruiting trail as LSU will get official visits from some of the top ranked recruits in this class. The Tigers have built their recruiting class on In-State talent and with 6 of the Top 15 players in the state still uncommitted LSU has a chance to further solidfy its stance.
LSU Legacy Darryus McKinley names LSU in Final 4 while setting November commitment date
This week, top LSU target and LSU Legacy Darryus McKinley named his top 4 schools in LSU, Tennessee, Texas, and Florida while revealing that he'll announce his commitment on November 8th which is his birthday.
On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings list the defensive tackle as a 3-star recruit as the 457th ranked player in the class, the 49th ranked defensive tackle, and the 14th ranked player in Louisiana.
Besides LSU being the In-State school for Darryus McKinley, the Tigers have an advantage that no other school can offer. Darryus McKinley will have the chance to play alongside his brother Dominick McKinley if he were to commit to LSU which is a massive advantage for the Tigers. That pitch hasn't fully worked out for LSU in this recruiting class to be fair as 5-star safety Blaine Bradford committed to Ohio State over In-State LSU passing up on the chance to play alongside his brother Jacob Bradford.
LSU has already started to lay the foundation of what could be a great defensive line class landing Richard Anderson who has risen to 5-star status in the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings. The Tigers have put themselves in a great position to land another 5-star defensive tackle in Lamar Brown who will announce his commitment in July.
