The past week has been quiet for the LSU Football team especially on the recruiting trail as the majority of this month falls under the recruiting dead period keeping schools from hosting recruits on visits. Prior to the recruiting Dead Period, LSU made an all out push traveling all over the Country to visit recruits while hosting several elite In-State recruits on visits for the Boys in the Boot Junior Day Event.

LSU's recruiting push is starting to pay dividends as the Tigers have landed a commitment from elite In-State Offensive Tackle Brysten Martinez.

Brysten Martinez is one of the best players in the Country ranked by On3 as the 48th best player in the 2026 recruiting class, the 10th ranked offensive tackle, and the 4th ranked player out of Louisiana.

Martinez joins fellow Louisiana Native Jalan Chapman as the 2nd offensive lineman to join the class as the Tigers are starting to load up in the trenches. The Tigers now hold six commitments in the 2026 class all of which come from In-State Natives. LSU now holds commitments from five of the top ten players in the State while the other five remain uncommitted, any concerns that Brian Kelly couldn't recruit the South are completely dispelled.

While LSU had the home team advantage, Brysten Martinez was highly sought after with offers from Oregon, Penn State, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida among other Power Four schools.

The Tigers still have plenty to add on the offensive line in this class but, Brad Davis is off to an incredible start. The Tigers have five-star recruit Lamar Brown in their backyard and he'll be one of the top offensive or defensive linemen depending where he plays. The state is loaded in the 2026 recruiting cycle and LSU starting off by getting six of the best players on board is a great trend for success.
