New head coach Lane Kiffin and new offensive line coach Eric Wolford have a tall task ahead. The LSU offensive line dealt with several injuries and underperformed as a whole in 2025, and Tiger fans are eager to see vast improvement in the trenches in 2026.

As Kiffin and Wolford begin re-hauling LSU's offensive line, they suffered a tough blow on Wednesday when On3 reported that true freshman Carius Curne plans to enter the transfer portal. Curne played in seven games during the regular season and had starts at both left and right tackle.

Curne is a former 5-star recruit and was ranked as the top player in the state of Arkansas and the No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the country for the 2025 class according to 247Sports. Seeing him go is a tough blow for Kiffin and LSU, as Curne showed plenty of promise this season and has a bright future ahead.

It also leaves the Tiger offensive line with little returning experience for Kiffin's first season in Baton Rouge. LSU is set to return freshmen Solomon Thomas and redshirt junior Braelin Moore next season, but there are several question marks surrounding the unit as a whole.

Help is also on the way in the form of 4-star OL prospect Brysten Martinez. The Gonzales, LA native is rated by 247Sports as the No. 4 player in Louisiana and the No. 10 offensive lineman in the country. Kiffin has also already flipped 3-star OL Ryan Miret from Ole Miss to LSU. But now that Curne is looking for other opportunities, it wouldn't be surprising to see Kiffin dip into the transfer portal further for additional offensive line help.

The LSU offense as a whole struggled mightily in 2025, which was largely due to the struggles of the offensive line. The Tigers allowed 25 sacks in 12 games during the regular season, and poor play in the trenches led to a woeful rushing attack. That poor performance has Tiger fans ready to see Kiffin lead a significant turnaround up front in 2026.
