All of the latest news around the LSU Football team's efforts to build out the 2026 recruiting class while building the 2027 recruiting class. While the 2026 class is at the forefront, the 2027 class will start to receive offers as LSU looks to build its recruiting boards in the Class while making sure they build relationships with elite recruits.
As of late, LSU has offered elite 2027 recruits Cameron Pritchett (Edge Rusher), Ben'Jarvius Shumaker (Defensive Line), and Five-Star Edge Rusher K.J. Green. One of the latest scholarship offers to go out from LSU is to Elite 2027 Wide Receiver Trenton Yancey.

โ Trenton Yancey ๐ (@d1trent_) January 22, 2025
While its early in the 2027 Recruiting Cycle, Trenton Yancey is a Four-Star Wide Receiver ranked as the 19th best player in the 2027 class, the 3rd ranked Wide Receiver, and the 4th ranked player out of Texas according to On3.
Trenton Yancey plays High School Football at Duncanville, a school LSU has had success with as of late as LSU nabbed Caden Durham while the Tigers also held a commitment from Duncanville's Dakorien Moore for a few months (Decommitted and signed with Oregon).
The Wide Receiver position is one that LSU has to pursue the next two recruiting cycles after only signing two wide receivers last cycle. Kenny Darby and Jakai Anderson are both In-State Wide Receivers who have committed to LSU but, the Tigers will still look to add another wide receiver or two to the 2026 class. The Tigers could end up losing Aaron Anderson, Nic Anderson, Barion Brown, Chris Hilton Jr, and Zavion Thomas following this season while they'll all be gone by the 2027 classes' arrival at LSU.
