This weekend was far and away LSU's biggest recruiting weekend of the year as the Tigers hosted 300 recruits and their familes. The Tigers had everyone on campus from Bryce Underwood to DJ Pickett to Harlem Berry and to targets like Jahkeem Stewart and Dakorien Moore. Losing that game however, killed some of LSU's momentum on the recruiting trail as others built momentum.
The team that built the most momentum this weekend was Ole Miss as the Rebels proved that they've gotten to the point where they can compete against Georgia in the trenches. The past few months, Ole Miss has been picking away at LSU's offensive line recruiting class and they appear to have made significant progress.
The Rebels are now expected to flip Devin Harper the 90th ranked player in the class, the 7th ranked guard in the class, and the 3rd ranked player in Louisiana. Miller has been committed to LSU since January but, ahead of National Signing Day the Rebels have the momentum.
Losing Devin Harper would leave LSU with just three commitments on the offensive line less than a month from Early National Signing Day. This is less than ideal as LSU will lose atleast four offensive linemen to the NFL Draft and may lose a few more because of the Transfer Portal.
LSU will need to work on some flips
If LSU loses Harper it would be a massive deal as Harper is a Lousiana Native and the Tigers were doing a solid job In-State. If LSU gets down to three commitments they'll have to work on some flips otherwise they'll need to focus on landing some transfers which is a difficult market. The staff will have less than a month to finish off this class but, losing a commit this late in the cycle is a cause for concern.
