The news is massive for the school as Governor Jeff Landry will now appoint a President of LSU in the near future. William Tate IV was hired at LSU by Governor John Bel Edwards becoming the first African American President at LSU and the first African American president in the SEC.
Losing William Tate IV is a massive loss for LSU as he oversaw the LSU system with 55,000 students with an endowment larger than $900 million and about $350 million in research expenditures.
The loss will especially hurt LSU on the athletics front as William Tate IV was a massive advocate for LSU's athletic programs. William Tate IV would often chip in helping the sports staffs with recruiting recently hosting elite basketball transfer Dedan Thomas Jr during his visit to Baton Rouge.
Welcome Dedan Thomas! It was special meeting you and your parents during @LSUBasketball visit. Remember now is the time to find your second genius. We look forward to supporting your academic and athletic journey. https://t.co/frNYX1kstz pic.twitter.com/ZBWTiDsvlz

Rutgers officially voted to appoint William Tate IV but, their biggest hurdle in finding a President could become LSU's as most of the sitting Presidents are reluctant to leave their posts.
Finding the right fit for the job won't be easy for LSU and it'll impact both the school system and the sports programs. LSU has been at the forefront of the NIL world and whoever is hired for the new role will have to jump into a job with some of the premier sports teams in the Country and have an approach to how the school will handle the everchanging sports landscape.
