Early Thursday Morning, LSU Freshman Quarterback Colin Hurley was injured in an On Campus Accident. WBRZ broke the story stating that Hurley's Dodge Charger crashed into a tree at South Quad Drive and Highland Road, near the south gates of LSU's campus.
Officials stated that Hurley was unresponsive but breathing, firefighters pulled Hurley out of his vehicle as he was in and out of consciousness and had a large cut on his face. The cause of the crash hasn't been released but, officials stated that impairment was not suspected.
Hurley is 17 years old coming off of his first season at LSU where he served as a reserve quarterback behind Garrett Nussmeier, Rickie Collins, and AJ Swann. Heading into 2025, Hurley is expected to compete for the role as the backup to Nussmeier against incoming transfer Michael Van Buren.
Colin Hurley's family released a statement on Thursday Afternoon stating he's resting and stable and will make a full recovery:
