LSU receiving depth takes another hit with latest portal update

The LSU Tigers have plenty of WR production to replace in Lane Kiffin's first season. Aaron Anderson and Barion Brown are out of eligibility, which means the Tiger passing attack will be without two of their top producers from 2025 next season.

LSU's WR depth took another hit on Thursday. According to On3, redshirt sophomore Kyle Parker plans to enter the transfer portal. Parker put together a solid sophomore campaign and has a bright future ahead, but now it appears that will be happening somewhere other than Baton Rouge.

Parker came to LSU as a consensus 4-star prospect and the No. 37 WR in the country for the 2023 recruiting class according to ESPN. After recording just 3 catches for 55 yards and a touchdown last season, Parker orchestrated that strong sophomore season that saw him collect 31 catches for 330 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Parker stepped up and provided solid receiving depth with Anderson out with an injury for most of the second half of the season. His best performance of the season came in the Texas Bowl when he racked up a season-high 7 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown. He seemed to be in line for a larger role in 2026, but now has his eyes on other opportunities with two years of eligibility remaining.

With Barion Brown, Zavion Thomas, and Aaron Anderson all moving on to the next level, Kiffin figures to be extremely busy trying to find elite WR talent in the transfer portal when it opens up on Friday. Auburn's Cam Coleman is slated to be the best WR available, and Kiffin needs to explore every opportunity of bringing him to LSU. But with so many question marks surrounding LSU's WR room for 2026 at the moment, look for Kiffin to bring in multiple receivers through the portal.
