The LSU Football team is just under an hour away from kicking off their season finale against the Baylor Bears. This team will look a little bit different as the Tigers face opt outs for the NFL Draft and losses to the transfer portal. As the game approaches kickoff, the LSU Football team released a depth chart for the game and there are a few surprises.
The first thing that stands out is the fact that Jardin Gilbert is no listed on the depth chart despite being with the team. Jardin Gilbert was out with the team for warmups but, may not be playing based on the depth chart that was released.
Instead, Javien Toviano and DaShawn Spears will get the start at safety which is great for the Tigers as the coaching staff has been pursuing safety help in the transfer portal. If DaShawn Spears or Javien Toviano can stand out today it may lessen LSU's need for starting caliber safeties.
The star position isn't listed and based on Gilbert being out we'll likely see LSU play with three linebackers deploying Whit Weeks, Greg Penn III, and Dahvon Keys. It'll be interesting to see if the staff tries a cornerback at the star role if LSU starts to need more speed on the field.
Not only is Trey'Dez Green listed as the starting tight end but, he's also listed as a starting wide receiver which makes it interesting as to how he maybe deployed today. If Green starts at tight end it appears we'll see Kylan Billiot in the starting lineup allowing another young player to see the field.
Aaron Anderson is not listed as a kickoff or punt returner which comes as a surprise considering he ran a kickoff back the last time we saw the Tigers.
