After losing Quarterback Commit Bryce Underwood to Michigan, LSU knows that even when a Quarterback claims to be locked in a flip can still be made. As LSU looks to land a Quarterback in the 2026 the Tigers are looking to flip one of the top quarterbacks in the class.

According to On3's Tennessee site Volquest, LSU and Alabama are still pushing to flip Tennessee Commit Faizon Brandon.

In the story, Faizon Brandon was asked about which schools are pushing for his commitment and how he's handling their calls.

"LSU and Alabama both, they continue to try to recruit me heavily, But I let them know that I’m 100 percent locked in. But I won’t break any bonds or burn any bridges or anything like that. Still want to just keep relationships, because you never know what can happen, so I don’t try to brush them off or anything like that. I just keep the relationship. But I tell them that I’m locked in with Tennessee, though."

When Faizon Brandon initially committed LSU was among Brandon's finalists along with Alabama, Tennessee, and NC State. The difference is LSU had Bryce Underwood on board which blocked quarterbacks like Brandon from immediate playing time. Now as LSU will lose Garrett Nussmeier and didn't sign a quarterback last cycle the Tigers do have a more compelling case.

According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Faizon Brandon is the 7th ranked recruit in the 2026 class, the 2nd ranked quarterback in the class, and the Top Player out of North Carolina. Landing Brandon would be a pipe dream for LSU but, the Tigers staying in constant contact incase the situation changes is the right play.

The best chance for LSU when it comes to landing a quarterback appears to be Texas native Bowe Bentley who currently isn't committed and will visit LSU this weekend. The coming weeks will show which quarterbacks LSU truly has a shot at depending who takes a visit to LSU but, the Tigers will look to ramp up their push for a signal caller.
