The Women's College Basketball season came to a close on Sunday Afternoon as the UConn Huskies dominated the South Carolina Gamecocks returning to the top of the sport. As the 2024-25 season comes to a close, all teams now eye the offseason especially the transfer portal as everyone looks to hunt down the UConn Huskies.

The LSU Women's Basketball team saw their season come to a close in the Elite 8 as the LSU Lady Tigers were unable to knock off the top seeded UCLA Bruins. The season for most of the year was great for LSU but, the Tigers dealt with injuries down the stretch which may have kept the team from winning the National Championship.

Heading into the offseason, Kim Mulkey has her work cut out for her as she'll need to replace Aneesah Morrow, Sa'Myah Smith, Shayeann Day-Wilson, and Last-Tear Poa. While the lack of frontcourt talent may be a concern for LSU in the short term, ESPN believes Kim Mulkey will figure it out as the Lady Tigers are ranked 6th in ESPN's "Way Too Early Top 25".

The Lady Tigers come in as the sixth ranked team behind UCLA, South Carolina, UConn, Texas, and Duke. Charlie Creme's concern with LSU is replacing Aneesah Morrow and Sa'Myah Smith but, he did note that no one has been better at using the transfer portal than Kim Mulkey.

Thus far, LSU hasn't made any additions in the transfer portal but, now with the season fully over the top targets should start to come available and should start coming off of the board. Kim Mulkey will add a loaded recruiting class with four of On3's Top 30 recruits headlined with two Top-10 players in the class.

Flau'Jae Johnson won't enter the WNBA Draft which gives LSU one of the best wing duos for another season as she's joined by Mikaylah Williams once more. The next few weeks will be crucial for Kim Mulkey as she looks to get the LSU Women's Basketball team back to the final four.
