We've reached halftime in one of the biggest games of the weekend between Alabama and LSU. The Crimson Tide have punched the LSU Tigers in the mouth taking a 21-6 lead at the half. The way LSU has started this game is unacceptable given that the Tigers had two weeks to prepare for this team.

Jalen Milroe was the first to gash the LSU Defense with a 39-yard run for a touchdown giving Alabama an early 7-0 lead. The Tigers got gashed by the legs of Marcel Reed two weeks ago and given how big of an issue it was you expected the Tigers would've drilled it the past two weeks. The Tigers should've drilled this down especially as they faced Milroe last season and he ran for four touchdowns against LSU.

The Tigers seemingly answered in the best way possible as Zavion Thomas took the kickoff across midfield which was then followed by a 45 yard run from Caden Durham to set LSU up with first and goal. The Tigers then did nothing in the redzone as the issues flared up once again for LSU.

The Tide's offense then found LSU's next pain point which was passes to the running back. Jam Miller decimated LSU especially on third downs catching five passes for 50 yards.

The Tigers finally got some momentum stopping the Tide on fourth down, but on the very next play DJ Chester missed a blitzing linebacker leading to a Garrett Nussmeier fumble. Jalen Milroe made the Tide pay immediately with a 22-yard run getting into the redzone before he'd dominate the defense with a 10 yard score.

Stopping the quarterback run was a priority for this team and whatever they worked on clearly didn't work as Jalen Milroe picked up 98 yards and two touchdowns with his legs in the first half.

The Crimson Tide have issues art cornerback, yet it took LSU until after the two-minute time out to get a wide receiver a catch.

As LSU was pushing to score before half, a false start took ten seconds off the clock while also costing the Tigers five yards.

Alabama looked more prepared in every facet of the game in the first half and they dominated their game plan. The Tide held the football for 19:55 compared to LSU who had the ball for just 10:05. On Third Downs Alabama converted 6 of 8 while LSU converted just 2 of 6 which is part of the reason why Alabama dominated this half.

The Good News for LSU is that this game is much closer than it should be at 21-6 as LSU dodged a few bullets. The Tigers will get the ball to start the second half and scoring a touchdown is almost required if LSU is going to win this game. We'll see what adjustments LSU's highly paid coaching staff can make but, they'll need to be major changes.
