Through seven games, the LSU Tigers already have two conference losses. Owning a 5-2 overall record and a 2-2 mark in SEC play, Brian Kelly and company essentially have to win out to even have a shot at making the College Football Playoff. The remaining schedule presents massive opportunity, starting with a home game against No. 3 Texas A&M this Saturday night.

LSU has yet to make the College Football Playoff with Kelly at the helm of the program. Fans are reaching a boiling point with Kelly, but his massive buyout may be saving him from being fired at this point in time. As the Tigers prepare to take on the Aggies, here is where LSU stands in the current College Football Playoff odds market.

LSU College Football Playoff odds update

The Tigers had odds of +200 to qualify for the College Football Playoff entering Week 8. However, after losing to Vanderbilt and suffering their second loss of the season, LSU's CFP odds have plummeted.

The Tigers now have odds of +1000 to make the CFP on DraftKings Sportsbook, which indicates an implied probability of 9.09%. After having the 11th-best odds to make the CFP before the Vanderbilt game, LSU now sits at No. 29 in the DraftKings CFP odds market. LSU now has the same odds as Navy and USC to make the CFP. That's not where Tiger fans want to be.

ESPN's College Football Power Index gives LSU a 14.2% chance to make the CFP, which is down from 32.6% last week. It also gives LSU a 2.1% chance to win out, which is essentially LSU's only shot at getting in right now.

But, LSU can take the first step in getting back on track with a huge win over Texas A&M this weekend. The Tigers are rare home underdogs, as the Aggies are favored by 2.5 points. LSU needs to defend its home turf in this one, as LSU hasn't lost to Texas A&M in Baton Rouge since 1994.
