LSU's defensive line has elite potential in 2026
Ross visited Baton Rouge earlier this week just hours after he announced that he would be entering the transfer portal. LSU seemed to be his top target, and now it is official.
Ross spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career in Knoxville with the Volunteers, and has a bright future ahead. He appeared in 11 games as a true freshman in 2024, and saw an increased role this past season. In 2025 as a sophomore, the Birmingham, AL native totaled 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks to go along with a forced fumble over 11 games.
Ross is now LSU's top-rated transfer pickup according to 247Sports. Furthermore, LSU's top-2 rated transfer additions come on the defensive line: Ross and former South Carolina EDGE Jaylen Brown.
LSU's defensive line for 2026 is coming together nicely for Kiffin. Along with adding Ross, Brown, Green, and Blocton through the transfer portal, LSU's top-ranked prospects in the 2026 recruiting class are also expected to play on the defensive line. The class is headlined by 5-star ATH Lamar Brown and 5-star DL Richard Anderson, and they could both compete for playing time right away. All in all, LSU's defensive line has the potential to be elite in Kiffin's first season in Baton Rouge.
