After losing 4 starters from the 2025 offensive line, Lane Kiffin and new offensive line coach Eric Wolford continue making the O line a priority through the transfer portal. LSU's latest portal signing reconnects Wolford with a player he coached in Lexington this past season.

Former Kentucky offensive tackle Darrin Strey has committed to LSU for the 2026 season. Strey visited LSU over the last week, and has now made his commitment official. Owning a massive 6'7", 322-pound frame, Strey played for Wolford at Kentucky in 2025 and logged 18 offensive snaps on the season.

A former 4-star prospect, Strey was ranked as the No. 6 player in the state of Michigan and the No. 32 offensive tackle in the country by the 247Sports Composite for the 2025 recruiting class. Hailing from Paw Paw, MI, Strey appeared in 3 games for the Wildcats this past season and has 4 years of eligibility remaining.

Strey's future in Baton Rouge is a promising one. His massive frame and 4-star potential are much-welcomed attributes as Kiffin continues building his roster for 2026. Strey is the 22nd portal addition for Kiffin and the Tigers thus far, and he joins an LSU offensive line that is undergoing a significant rebuild following the departures of over half a dozen linemen from this past season.

Most notably, Tyree Adams and Coen Echols transferred to Texas A&M, Ory Williams transferred to Tennessee, DJ Chester transferred to Mississippi State, and Carius Curne transferred to Ole Miss. Braelin Moore and Solomon Thomas are slated to return, with 4-star recruit Brysten Martinez and 3-star recruit Ryan Miret also joining the mix from the high school ranks.

The LSU offensive line struggled mightily in 2025, which led to the Tiger offense as a whole underachieving throughout the season. Tiger fans are hoping Wolford can get things back on track in 2026.
