The LSU offensive line continues to flood the transfer portal. So far, Tiger offensive linemen that intend to enter the portal include 5-star freshman Carius Curne, redshirt freshman Coen Echols, redshirt sophomore DJ Chester, and redshirt sophomore Tyree Adams.

According to On3, Paul Mubenga is the latest LSU offensive lineman with plans to enter the transfer portal. The redshirt sophomore has appeared in 20 games with 11 starts for LSU over the last two seasons.

Paul Mubenga plans to enter the transfer portal

Mubenga came to LSU as a 4-star recruit out of Buford High School in Georgia. He did not see any game in action in 2023, taking his redshirt. He then became a steady contributor in 2024 by appearing in 10 games with five starts at left guard. This past season, Mubenga started 6 games for a Tiger offensive line that was often-injured and underperformed throughout the season. Now, he is looking for a new opportunity via the portal.

Along with being the 5th LSU offensive lineman to enter the portal, Mubenga is the 14th Tiger with plans to enter the portal overall. With the portal set to open on January 2, Lane Kiffin and new offensive line coach Eric Wolford figure to be very active in pursuit of several offensive linemen.

Looking ahead, it's apparent that LSU's offensive line will look vastly different in 2026. The incoming 2026 recruiting class includes 4-star OL prospect Brysten Martinez and 3-star OL Ryan Miret. Martinez is rated by 247Sports as the No. 4 player in Louisiana and the No. 10 offensive lineman in the country. Given the five players opting to leave via the portal, Martinez could compete for playing time right from the jump. Miret is ranked as the No. 68 interior offensive lineman in the country, and flipped from Ole Miss to LSU shortly after Kiffin was hired at LSU.

It will be interesting to see how Kiffin and Wolford decide to attack the portal. With plenty of needs, they figure to be busy.
