When LSU took the field against the Alabama Crimson Tide, everyone expected that we'd see a battle determining a place in the College Football Playoff. In reality, the LSU Football Team was just hanging on for as long as they could before the Crimson Tide pulled away. The loss on Saturday and some of LSU's struggles throughout the season are evident that LSU isn't on the same talent level as Alabama and some of the other top teams in the country.

The Tigers lost at the line of scrimmage as they did against Texas A&M while they've struggled there against USC, South Carolina, and at point in every other game.

This team shouldn't struggle on the offensive line, the Tigers have two tackles and two guards that will most likely get picked fairly early in this years NFL Draft. On the defensive line, LSU's talent and depth was a massive concern coming into the season and it has been put on display the last two weeks.

This offseason, the Tigers had a clear need at defensive tackle and they offered nearly every defensive tackle in the transfer portal a scholarship but, Brian Kelly said that LSU wasn't in the market of buying players.

Kelly and some fans may agree that you shouldn't need to buy players, it has become the nature of the sport and if you aren't going to pay the player a bunch of other schools will.

The same applies to defensive back and running back as LSU entered the year with a group of older defensive backs that the fans knew weren't going to get the job done based on their play the few seasons prior.

Last year after Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss got dominated by Georgia he declared that his team wasn't good enough and vowed to build a team that can beat Georgia. On Saturday his team finished off Kiffin's push as his team dominated Georgia on the line of scrimmage and won the game.

This offseason, Brian Kelly will likely lose four of five offensive linemen, two wide receivers, two edge rushers, and maybe Mason Taylor to the NFL Draft. After the loss on Saturday and with the losses coming this offseason, Brian Kelly and this program need to make an all in transfer push for one season.

The Tigers have a strong recruiting class coming in but, for the 2025 season LSU needs to build this roster up so its can compete with the top teams in the country. LSU will return a ton of great pieces for 2025 but, this roster will certainly need help via the Transfer Portal.
