On Sunday, Kim Mulkey's LSU Lady Tigers played an incredible game overcoming a slow start to pick up a massive win over Kentucky. The win helped clinch one of the top four seeds in the SEC Tournament for LSU giving the Lady Tigers a double bye in the tournament. While the win was massive for LSU, the AP Poll didn't see it the same way keeping LSU as the 7th ranked team in the Country.

The biggest shakeup in the AP Poll comes as Texas is the Nation's Top Team with UCLA moving up to second while Notre Dame falls to third after losing to NC State. LSU holds ranked wins over 9th ranked NC State, 11th ranked Tennessee, 13th ranked Oklahoma, 15th ranked Kentucky, and the Lady Tigers will face 20th ranked Alabama.

While the Tigers didn't move up in the AP Poll, being the 7th ranked team is still great news for the Lady Tigers. If the NCAA Tournament Committee is in line with the AP Poll then the Lady Tigers would be a two seed in the NCAA Tournament. Being one of the Top 4 seeds in each region allows you to host home games which would be a massive advantage for LSU.

The AP Poll Ranking is also much kinder to LSU than the NET Rankings which are used by the NCAA Tournament committee in their process. The NET has LSU as the 10th ranked team in the Country which would put the Lady Tigers in line to be a 3 seed.

The biggest thing working in LSU's favor is the fact that several of the Tigers biggest wins are against teams right behind them in the AP Poll and NET Rankings which makes it incredibly difficult for the committee to seed them ahead of LSU.
