During the lead up to the Bowl Game, LSU's surge in the transfer portal halted for a bit in part because nearly every top transfer had committed to new schools. As of late however, we've seen LSU pick up their pursuit for a few reasons. The Tigers still have a few needs which is one part of the equation but, after the Bowl Game the staff has a better understanding on where the younger pieces on this team are.
Since the Bowl Game, we've seen LSU slow down in its pursuit of offensive linemen while picking up their push for defensive back help. The Tigers are set to host transfers Tamarcus Cooley and Keionte Scott this week to address the defensive back needs but, the visits won't end there.
The Tigers are set to host Texas A&M transfer Donovan Green on a visit this week as the Tigers look to rebuild the tight end room. LSU returns Trey'Dez Green who showed how important he'll be in 2025 in the Texas Bowl while adding transfer Bauer Sharp and true freshman JD LaFleur.
Donovan Green was a top ten tight end recruit in the 2022 recruiting cycle before signing with Texas A&M. As a True Freshman, Green was named a Freshman All American but, he tore his ACL missing the entire 2023 season. This season, Green appeared in 7 games but, did not record a catch as he built back into SEC shape.
LSU could be a fresh start for Green and he could be a massive receiving threat alongside Trey'Dez Green as LSU replaces Mason Taylor and Ka'Morreun Pimpton. Given the fact that LSU has lost three tight ends since the start of the season, it makes a ton of sense for LSU to add at least one more player to the mix before the start of the season.
