This offseason, the LSU Football team has plugged away at filling needs using the transfer portal to fill nearly every hole on the roster. The Tigers flew out of the gate filling each position of need however things have slowed down as of late. The transfer activity is starting to pick up for LSU once again however as the Tigers are set to host Auburn transfer cornerback / safety Keionte Scott.
The Tigers search for transfer defensive backs doesn't end there as LSU is set to host transfer defensive back Tamarcus Cooley on a visit this week.
The Tigers will have plenty of competition as Cooley is also visiting Ole Miss, Missouri, and Kentucky next week.
Cooler started his career off at Maryland before he transferred to NC State spending one season with the Wolfpack. This season, Tamarcus Cooley recorded 39 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 6 pass defenses while grading out as the highest ranked player on NC State's defense.
The LSU Football team has already addressed cornerback heavily via the transfer portal as the Tigers brought in Florida's Ja'Keem Jackson and Virginia Tech's Mansoor Delane. In the incoming recruiting class LSU brought in a solid class of defensive backs headlined by the Nation's top cornerback DJ Pickett.
In the Texas Bowl while the biggest concern for LSU was the need for safeties, the cornerbacks didn't have their best showing making the position a deeper concern. We're going to see Corey Raymond continue to bring in a ton of pieces as he didn't pick most of the cornerbacks on LSU's roster and will want to shape the cornerback room to fit his prototype.
