The LSU Football team is heading into an important summer for the Tigers on the recruiting trail as official visits start to kick off. As things currently stand, LSU holds the Nation's top ranked recruiting class but, with only 9 commits on board, LSU will have to build out its class this Summer. The good news for LSU is that the Tigers have a ton of momentum heading into the Summer and, the Tigers just keep getting great news.
LSU lands an official visit with one of the Nation's top running backs
Elite running back recruit KJ Edwards has set 4 official visits with the Tigers swooping in along with Alabama to battle the Texas schools for the 4-star recruit.

The Tigers getting KJ Edwards on campus is pretty significant and speaks to the level of interest the Tigers have in adding Edwards. After signing the Nation's top running back recruit Harlem Berry and another Top-10 running back in JT Lindsey, LSU hasn't been active in the recruitment of running backs this cycle. The Tigers have only offered a handful of running backs in this cycle and Edwards coming to campus shows the Tigers clearly have interest.
Winning out in this recruitment will be difficult for the Tigers as Alabama, Texas, and Texas A&M are all battling with the Texas schools having an In-State advantage.
KJ Edwards is a Top-50 recruit in this class, ranked as the fourth-ranked running back and fifth-ranked player out of Texas according to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings. LSU has already started to build out an elite class on offense, landing commitments from the Nation's top WR Tristen Keys, two of Louisiana's best wide receivers, Jabari Mack and Kenny Darby, and two offensive linemen.
The official visit will be massive for determining how much of a factor LSU can be in this race while several other running backs committing over the months to come could help LSU win out for Edwards.
