The college football coaching carousel has already set records this season. The firing of Brian Kelly at LSU has fans wondering what LSU's 2026 recruiting class will end up looking like. As the school searches for its next head coach, recruits continue to weight their options in regard to where they will take their services next fall.
LSU Football appears on the verge of losing a 4-star commit to Mississippi State
But even if a school is retaining its head coach, recruits flipping their commitments is still a reality that all head coaches have to deal with in today's day and age. That's something that Steve Sarkisian and Texas is dealing with right now, as a highly-touted prospect decommitted from the Longhorns earlier this week. In turn, it could open the door for LSU to swoop in and poach him.
LSU should target 4-star DL Dylan Berymon
4-star DL prospect Dylan Berymon committed to Sarkisian and Texas back on June 7. However, he still took several visits to Texas A&M and USC over the summer following his commitment. Earlier this week on November 5, Berymon decided to decommit from Texas and re-open his recruitment.

What makes Berymon an appealing prospect for LSU to pursue is that he hails from Louisiana. Berymon plays at Ouchita Parish High School in Monroe, and LSU extended him an offer during his initial recruitment. Berymon chose Texas, but now that his recruitment is back open, LSU should consider adding him to its 2026 recruiting class.
As it stands, LSU has the 12th-ranked recruiting class for 2026 according to 247Sports. Berymon would be a strong addition to the class, as he is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 4 overall player in Louisiana and No. 13 DL prospect in the country. He is described by 247Sports Scouting Analyst Gabe Brooks as a "Pit bull of an interior defensive lineman with broad trunk, big base, and corresponding power and strength."
LSU is already on the verge of losing a 4-star commit for the 2026 class, so adding a playmaker like Berymon would be a big get.
