On Saturday Night, the LSU Softball team saw their season come to a shocking end as the Tigers dropped their second game in back to back days to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. It will mark yet another year where LSU doesn't return to the College World Series, dating all the way back to 2017. Two of the last three seasons have ended with the Tigers losing in their own regional to an In-State program.
As the struggles continue for the LSU Tigers, the fanbase has seen enough and has taken to Twitter to call for a change in leadership.
Beth Torina is a joke.

Mainieri without the ring.
If she is employed on Monday, Scott Woodward is not serious about the sport.
That she is still here today in 2025 sort of implies that he is not serious about the sport as-is.
One fan pointed out that the results have plateaued after a really promising stretch from 2012 to 2017 where it seemed like a when not an if when it came to LSU winning a National Championship.
so yeah LSU needs to can Beth Torina. She’s plateaued and it’s time for change

It’s time to move on from Beth Torina.

A few fans think there isn't even much time needed to make a decision on the future of the program.
Beth Torina shouldn’t have a job past 9 pm.

Why LSU likely won't fire Beth Torina
In all reality, as much as the fanbase complains and as much as the results have been disappointing, the athletic department most likely won't fire Beth Torina. Scott Woodward gave Torina an extension running through the end of 2028 in July of 2024. While the fanbase would like a change, it's unlikely that the administration would pay $1.3 million to let go of the staff before paying another staff a ton of money. The Softball program isn't a revenue program which makes it less likely a change is made as Basketball and Football have become an arms race in the transfer portal.
At the end of the day, while the Postseason results aren't what the fanbase hopes for and expects, the administration may feel differently. The Tigers are constantly in the Postseason and hosting Regionals which may be more than enough for the program.
