After cruising through the first two games of the Baton Rouge Regional, the LSU Baseball team had to face off against the Little Rock Trojans for the second time in this Regional. A win for the Tigers would've sent LSU onto Super Regionals to face off against West Virginia while a loss forced a Winner Take All game on Monday.
The LSU Baseball team jumped on Little Rock quickly in the Top of the 1st inning like they have in every game this Regional. Derek Curiel and Jared Jones led the game off with singles allowing Daniel Dickinson to drive the first run of the game across. Steven Monster Milam lived up to his nickname once again plating a pair on an RBI single making it 3-0 LSU.

From that point on, the momentum took a massive shift in Little Rock's direction as the Trojans got to the Tigers pitching staff. Angel Cano would become LSU's enemy in this game blasting a 2 run home run off of Jaden Noot to make it 3-2 LSU in the 2nd inning.
In the 3rd inning, Chase Shores would walk 3 straight batters which came back to haunt LSU as Angel Cano cleared the bases with a 3-RBI double ending Shores' outing after recording just 3 outs. Cooper Williams would allow one runner to score on a sacrifice groundout making it 6-3 as Little Rock scored 4 with just 2 hits in the inning.
The Tigers were able to push a run across in the top of the 5th inning as a ball got away from Little Rock's catcher allowing the Tigers to make it a 6-4 game. The concern was yet again the Tigers missed out on a chance to do serious damage as Jared Jones struck out stranding a pair.
Cooper Williams was crucial for the Tigers, posting a 3.2 scoreless innings which gave the Tigers plenty of chances to get back into this game while also saving arms in the bullpen.
The Tigers' offense went cold, and in the bottom of the 8th inning, Jacob Mayers loaded the bases, allowing Little Rock to make it a 3 run game on a sacrifice fly. Bad only got worse for the Tigers as the lead would stretch to 5 on a ground out and a wild pitch. A single up the middle made it 10-4 and started to empty out the Box as the fanbase started to make their way to the exits.
The Tigers offense went quietly into the night on Friday Night in the 9th inning setting a crucial elimination game on Monday Night.
In this game, the Tigers' offense stranded a small Country, leaving 10 runners on base leaving the bases loaded twice early on in this game. Jared Jones' slump was the biggest issue for the Tigers in this game as he was unable to come through a few time, stranding 4 at crucial points in the game.
The Tigers pitching staff struggled with command, walking 11 Trojans, which haunted the team as 7 of the walks turned into runs, deciding this game. The Tigers didn't deploy Zac Cowan or Casan Evans, which is massive news as the Tigers will have both available for the crucial do-or-die game on Monday.
