The LSU Lady Tigers are currently in a battle with the UCLA Bruins as the Lady Tigers head into the fourth quarter trailing 46 to 41. As LSU looks to pull off the upset over UCLA, the Lady Tigers are doing anything they can to slow Lauren Betts. The bad news for the Lady Tigers is that LSU may need to pull off the upset without one of the best players in the Country as Aneesah Morrow is injured.
During the third quarter, Lauren Betts clearly pushed Sa'Myah Smith who smashed into Aneesah Morrow as the Tigers duo collided with their heads hitting together. Sa'Myah Smith came up holding her head clearly in pain while Aneesah Morrow clearly took the worst of the damage.
Morrow was down on the floor causing the game to be stopped and when the camera panned back to Aneesah Morrow she was down and bleeding. The play was reviewed but, the referees ruled that the foul was not intentional but, LSU would be without Morrow who had to return to the locker room.
Update: Aneesah Morrow has returned to the game for LSU after suffering a broken nose.
On the broadcast, Holly Rowe confirmed that Aneesah Morrow broke her nose which will make it tough for her the rest of this game as she plays through the pain.
Whether Morrow or will return or not is the biggest question as LSU is right in this game looking to pull off the upset. If Aneesah Morrow can't return to action, LSU may be in trouble as she's carried the Lady Tigers all season long. In this game, Morrow has 13 points and 7 rebounds while her biggest impact has been on defense as LSU has held Lauren Betts to 12 points.
If LSU is going to be without Aneesah Morrow the rest of the game, one of the Tigers other interior players will need to step up. Jersey Wolfenbarger and Aalyah Del Rosario will likely be called upon if Morrow can't return.
